It's All About the Experience
According to a CNN report - Experiences make people happier than possessions.
This is not surprising - I, for one, have a much better memory of the trips we took to Disney World for Christmas - than what I received when I opened my Christmas presents.
Furthermore, the joy of acquiring a new object, such as a new car, fades over time as people become accustomed to seeing it every day.
Experiences, on the other had, continue to provide happiness through memories long after the event has occurred.
Think back to your childhood, what are YOUR memories made of? Do you remember the the trips you took with your parents? Grandparents? Friends? That is certainly what MY memories are made of, and a big reason I decided that the travel business is where I wanted to focus. Helping people build memories - that's fun!
If you are a parent, you have a compressed time frame in which to build these types of memories with you children - while they are children. Parents have only about a 10 year span when their children are old enough to travel, and yet still young enough to still want to travel with their parents. the clock is ticking, and you need to make the most of the times you have together!
What are some ideas? they really aren't any different now than they ever were, but the opportunity to broaden those horizons with affordable travel worldwide has given us many more choices.
The same choices we've had for generations-
- Disney
- Beach
- National Park
- City Exploration
are still great choices, but now you can introduce your children to other cultures-
- Caribbean
- Latin America
- Asia
much more afford-ably and much more easily than in years gone by.
Take advantage of these opportunities while you can, because as you know, we're not guaranteed tomorrow!
So, where do you want to go?
