If you are planning to travel this year here are some things to know.
Whether you are planning a short trip driving to the beach, or the vacation of a lifetime, there are some common denominators that you should know about when planning your trip this year....
Prices Increasing
It should be no surprise that prices are increasing for travel related products. Several factors are at work and combine to drive vacation pricing higher- a few of these are obvious.
- Economic rebound alleviates deep discounting
- Higher oil prices put pressure on transportation costs
- Pent-up demand for much needed vacations
So what's the take-away? What do you need to know? Unless something changes significantly you should be looking for opportunities to book travel NOW rather than waiting for further pressure upwards on prices. Lock in great rates that do still exist, but might not last forever
Flight Availability Getting Limited
As more people are traveling flight availability is shrinking, and sometimes rapidly. It's a supply and demand issue. Eventually airlines should add back routes that were cut in the depths of the recession - put planes back in the air after resting them in the desert for years, but for now we are in a period in which limited supply of flights, particularly to less traveled destinations such at St Lucia, Curacoa & Belize is making availability tight as more travelers seek those destinations. Again, book EARLY for best choice.
Mexico is On Sale
Bad press for years on end has hurt Mexico. While drug wars have raged in border towns and sometimes in the heart of the country, tourist areas have been spared- yet you would not know it by what you see, read and hear coming from the media.
- Traveling to Puerto Vallarta is SAFE -
- Traveling to Riviera Maya is SAFE -
- Traveling to Cozumel is SAFE
You can profit from this big enjoying a 5 star property for the price of a 4 star or less in many other places. The time is now to discover the riches that Mexico has to offer the casual vacationer - after all, Americans do love a great sale don't they?
Few Choices in Caribbean Cruises This Summer
The popularity of cruising is finally catching on with Europeans + Americans are booking Mediterranean cruises in big numbers. Both of these factors combine to send many cruise ships to Europe this summer. What this means for the Caribbean is that there are far fewer choices, higher prices and more limited availability. If you want to cruise the Caribbean THIS summer you better get that cabin booked now for best choice, and not wait for last minute sales which may not exist this year
Have More Celebration with Gift Registry
If you are planning a Honeymoon or Anniversary and want to give your friends and family the chance to contribute toward your celebration then a gift registry is a great option. Consider that Mom and Dad want to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on a dream cruise in the South Pacific instead of throwing a big party and asking friends and family to fly in from all across the country/world. A gift registry is a wonderful way for friends and family to be able to make the dream even more special. In increments of only $25+ friends and family members can contribute toward making the celebration all the more special. Blowing the budget on the trip can mean that wonderful experiences such as the Shark Feeding experience, or a Jet Ski ride all around Bora Bora or Whale Watching can go unfunded....
Same goes for Honeymoon couples- I know that I would much rather give the gift of a candlelight dinner on the beach than give a nice Waring Blender to the newly married couple. The memory of the dinner will last much, much longer than the best blender on the market -
Great memories like that will be long remembered and shared on Facebook - for all eternity? Perhaps....
Bottom line is- travel well and make great memories. If you have questions or could use the help of a pro then EZTravelpad is here to safe you time & money!
